The other day I had a conversation with one of my friends who uses excel regularly. We are discussing on some random things in excel. The discussion went around customization of default options in excel. He is bored of looking at the same color options in excel which are set by default specially with the gridlines. The Gridlines or excel grid is by default in Grey color. He want to change the color which is more appealing or pleasing to the eyes. He asked, do we have an option to change color of gridlines in excel. The answer is yes from me. He is very excited to know that he can change the color of gridlines to he color he want.

To change the color of gridlines in excel, follow the below steps.
Open an Excel workbook.
Click on the File Tab.
Click on Options.
In the Excel Options window, click on Advanced.
Scroll Down and see for a heading “Display Options for this Worksheet. You can see Sheet1 available by default.
Under the same heading, you see an option “Show Gridlines” with a checkbox. Make sure that this checkbox is selected.
Below the “Show Gridlines” option, you can see the Gridline Color Option with a color selector/ palette.
Click on the Color Selector/ palette and choose the color of your choice.
Click on OK.
Now you can see the Gridlines are in the color that you choose.
To return to the default grey color, repeat the same steps and choose “Automatic” in the color selector/ palette.
Note
An important point to keep in mind is, the gridline color option is a sheet level selection. That means the gridline color cab be different for different sheets in the workbook. If you want to change the gridline color for a different sheet select that worksheet from the drop-down.
