There are 2 different ways to enable the developer tab
Using the Menu Bar or Tabs or Quick Access Toolbar
Right Click on any of the tabs or on any icons available on the Quick Access Tool Bar.
Click on Customize the Ribbon.
You can see the Excel Options Dialogue opens. Under the Customize the Ribbon block you can see the Developer Tab. However it will not be checked.
To Enable Check the box and click on Ok.
Now You can see the Developer tab reflecting next to View Tab along with other tabs.
Alternate Method
This is using the file Menu of Excel. To use this
- Click on File.
- Then Select Options
- The Excel Options Dialogue opens.
- Select Customize Ribbon option.
- Upon selecting the Customize Ribbon option, follow the steps from 3 to 5 mentioned above.
This is a one time process. Once the Developer tab is enabled, it will be visible in all the workbooks by default. You can also see all the Developer group options Visual Basic, Macros, Add-Ins, Controls and others. See the below screenshot.
